Rope for Running Rigging

We have collected a selection of what we trust you will agree represents the finest of what is made for modern riggers of traditional and classic vessels. We have selected each one to be useful in specific applications.

Posh
A three strand rope made from spun polyester - it closely resembles best quality natural fibre hemp rope and is ideal in applications where low stretch, high strength, durability and traditional appearance are important.

Posh Double Braid
An ideal choice for sheets and halyards in upgraded classic yachts where the performance of modern braided yacht rope is combined with a slightly traditional look.

Posh Bright White
Familiar to classic yacht sailors up and down the New England coast, this three strand rope has a bright white color and a very soft hand.

Hempex
A three strand rope made from spun polypropylene. It is less expensive and lighter in color than Posh.

Polytex
A three strand polypropylene with enhanced UV protection. It has harder hand than Hempex and is darker in color.

 Natural Hemp
The real thing! Amazingly low stretch, strong and supple, this three strand rope would have met with the approval of the original sailors of the classic vessels you respect.

Buff Polyester
From English Braids of Great Britain, Buff Polyester is similar to Posh but with a firmer hand. We supplied five tons of this rope to 20th Century Fox for use in the re-rigging of the frigate in their feature film "Master and Commander, the Far Side of the World".
